KEEP YOUR CLIENTS INFORMED

Posted on December 06, 2009 by Andrea Pekarik Welch

Being in business we all know that as much as we would like to believe “build it and they will come,”  that is just not the case.  Okay, maybe if you are a Starbucks or a Mickey D’s, but otherwise we need to take the initiative to market and advertise our business.  Otherwise our doors will be closing way before our business actually gets off the ground.

There are many ways to advertise:  radio, TV, billboards, print ads, B2B, and the internet.  Now let’s just assume you have been doing one, a few or all of these and your business is growing.  What so many people in business fail to realize that your client base IS your business.  So paying close attention to the retention of these clients is imperative to a growing business.  After all, what did it cost you in the first place to get that client in the door?

Let’s say that your advertising budget each month is $5,000.  How many clients would it take to come into your place of business and purchase something to pay for that advertising?  How many more to actually have a profit?  Depending on the cost of your product or service, it can add up to quite a few.   If your budget is $5,000 and your average product or service cost is $50, then you would need 100 new clients from that monthly advertising just to pay for it.  Even at bringing 500 new clients in the door for that $5,000, each lead cost you $10.  So in order for you advertising to work for that month, we either have to get them to spend more or come back through that door again…and again.

So how are you keeping your business in front of your clients?  Maybe you use newsletters.  Maybe you send postcards.  Maybe you pay someone to sit and just call everyone periodically.  Whatever you are using, what is it costing you?

Well I finally found something that costs me less than 2 cents per client to keep them informed and coming back for more.  Yep, I said 2 CENTS!

Phone Broadcasting is the fastest, easiest and most afforadable way that I have found that my clients actually look forward to receiving.  In a quick 20-30 second broadcast to thousands of my client base, I can let them know of my newest services, remind them of upcoming classes, offer them specials for the day or the week, or just a quick tip in order to keep me in front of them.

In the past I would pay someone an hourly wage to sit and call my client base, which would take days!  Now all the calls go out within an hour.  The best part is that my clients are calling me back wanting more information on what my broadcast was about.

It has undoubtedly become the best way I have found to keep client retention.   Check into for yourself.  If you have any questions, I will be happy to steer you in the right direction and help you decide how broadcasting can work for you too.

Isn’t your client worth 2 cents?

Here’s to your success.
